Sundays..

..are meant for sleeping in..



I might be getting ahead of myself.. but the weekend is nearing & for an early riser who has been looking forward to it since.. well, Monday morning really..  it can't come soon enough. As a mother, my days of sleeping past 6 a.m. (sometimes 5 a.m., god love him) have come & gone like the winter wind.. except for my one cherished morning a week when my sleepy head gets to stay on that pillow as long as I desire (or at least until my husband calls for me)

So, may your Sundays be spent lounging around in your pajamas.. sipping your cup of coffee.. & reading your favorite magazine.. all while snuggled up..in bed

..and for all you mothers.. rest your head (when you can) & count your blessings.. cause if mama's happy, everyone's happy..

The Sweetest Moments

Birthdays are the grandest day of the year!



My son's first birthday has just passed & this is what is left of that magical day.. no, not the cake (that has been polished off & when I euphemistically say polished off I mean we ate it.. all of it).. anyways, what's left are these glimpses of his first moments with one of his first cakes (I know what you're thinking & yes, we had more than one birthday cake for us-- I mean him!) I always wondered why people get so excited to give babies dessert - present party included, of course. For Leo, it might be the fact that he didn't have sugar for his first year of life.. more likely though, speaking from someone with a rather large sweet tooth, it's because we want to see them experience the same joy it brings us.

New Beginnings

Naturally, starting my very first blog has conjured up feelings of new beginnings.. where they will lead you.. where you want to go. We face changes everyday that can be fear inducing. Many times I have gone into situations thinking the worst.. accompanied with dread, fear, anxiety (anyone?).. only to find that the end result was rather pleasing. Afterwards, I realized I wasted so much energy on.. well, nothing. Change is inevitable, in fact, it's the only constant thing in our lives. The best you can do is face each open doorway with an open mind.. Aaand.. Exhale!

Oh, and the Walt Disney quote? What a true visionary, or "imagineer" as he so perfectly put it.. this quote helps inspire me to take each day at a time.. to stay positive.. and to keep challenging myself.. and remember-- it was all started with a mouse! ("imagineer" that!)
