Birthdays are the grandest day of the year!
My son's first birthday has just passed & this is what is left of that magical day.. no, not the cake (that has been polished off & when I euphemistically say polished off I mean we ate it.. all of it).. anyways, what's left are these glimpses of his first moments with one of his first cakes (I know what you're thinking & yes, we had more than one birthday cake for us-- I mean him!) I always wondered why people get so excited to give babies dessert - present party included, of course. For Leo, it might be the fact that he didn't have sugar for his first year of life.. more likely though, speaking from someone with a rather large sweet tooth, it's because we want to see them experience the same joy it brings us.
